Drama Production

Welcome to the Award-Winning Millikan Drama Production Program!  The Millikan Drama Production program is one of the most respected drama programs in the state of California. Aligned with the California State Standards, this program is designed to provide advanced theory and practical application of stage and film acting techniques, advanced theatre history, character development, improvisation, movement, monologue preparation & performance, and scene study. The students will also use their skills in script analysis, visualization, play-writing, scene study, and performance preparation, while increasing their working knowledge of theatre and academic specific vocabulary. Students will also focus on acting genres and styles including Greek, Shakespeare, and pre-1920’s styles.

Once admitted to the program after a rigorous audition process, students will have an opportunity to work daily with theater professionals in acting, improvisation, character development, playwriting, stage management, and dance techniques. Students will also have the opportunity to be in two Broadway-Style Theatrical productions during the year. 

Additionally, this program provides students with the opportunity to participate in the Drama Teachers’ Association of Southern California Fall and Shakespeare Festivals in which they will compete against schools throughout Southern California.

The Millikan Drama Production program challenges students to become the best performers they can be, while also cultivating an appreciation for all things theatre.  Our main goal, however, is to make sure our students become outstanding human beings who care for their fellow classmates.  The students and parents of this program are family and work hard to create a safe, nurturing, and creative atmosphere for all involved.  We invite you to join the family!
